Maintenance of Drum Gear Coupling

The drum gear coupling consists of components such as aninternal gear ring and flanged half-couplings with external gears, both havingthe same number of teeth. The external gears come in two types: straight teethand drum-shaped teeth. Drum-shaped teeth are designed as spherical surfaceswith the center of the sphere located on the gear axis, providing larger toothclearance compared to standard gears. This design allows the drum gear couplingto accommodate greater angular misalignment (compared to straight-toothcouplings), improving tooth contact conditions, enhancing torque transmissioncapacity, and extending service life. When angular displacement occurs, thecontact condition along the tooth width is optimized.
